Trainee Counsellors/ Therapists
How I Work

I lecture and teach counselling and psychotherapy to trainee counsellors as a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) Tutor for Place2Be, a role supported and underpinned by the University of East London. In this capacity, I guide and inspire aspiring counsellors as they develop the skills and confidence needed for effective therapeutic work. I focus on creating a supportive learning environment where students can explore both theory and practice, encouraging deep self-reflection and critical thinking. My aim is to help each trainee build a strong foundation of knowledge while also nurturing their personal growth, so they feel prepared and empowered to support the diverse needs of the clients they will work with. I’m passionate about contributing to the next generation of therapists, helping them find their unique voice and develop the compassion and insight necessary for meaningful, transformative work.

I work closely with counsellors-in-training, supporting them to develop self-awareness as a key foundation for effective practice. Together, we explore their thoughts, emotions, and biases to deepen understanding, helping them connect more authentically with their clients. I tailor my approach to fit each person’s unique training journey, blending techniques that complement their learning and personal therapy, so they feel confident and supported every step of the way.
